Quite a few primary schools gathered this past week and hosted a running of the stampedes. It was quite fun as Brendan brought home Bendigo Gold (best combined time in 9 events) and Maddy brought home hardware herself: 2nd place in the 100m dash and 3rd in the 400m race. Mum and Cam coached and prodded from the sidelines to great success.
On Sunday, Dad took part in his first 'real' training exercise with the Country Fire Authority. He actually ended up teaching part of the class on fireline construction. The training dealt with orienteering, fireline construction and pump configuration/hose layout Hopefully we won't have to exercise fire suppression skills this summer. Odds are not likely, however, with continued record-setting drought. Cheers!
