Life and Times in the US Capitol

Apologies for the tardy updates; since Heather shipped me out to Washington DC, it has been quite frantic. It has been a truly great learning experience as I've been catering to political power brokers in the US' nerve center. A bit trying yet exhilarating at the same time.

As I write snow (that is frozen precipitation for Captain Bill) continues to fall in Washington DC. This past weekend, over 90 cm of snow fell, 25 more is expected to arrive tonight. This is the highest total snowfall amount since the mid 1800s here in Washington. I was thinking on February 7th about the contrast from last year for the Shaws and this year; quite poignant and reflective to say the least. Our hearts and thoughts are with you all at this time one year later in Victoria. The temperature and emotional extremes are remarkable.

Heather and the kids were to fly here (Idaho to Washington....4300 Kilometers) tomorrow, but given our weather, they are staying in Idaho. Yes, disappointing, but the right thing to do given our weather here on the east coast of the US.

The following are some photos from around my new temporary home taken over the last few days. Miss all of you and hope to chat and/or see one another soon!

Cheers........Bodie!
