The Capitol City Recovers; The Kirtleys Pay a Visit

It has been a long, cold road to recovery for Washington DC with a lot of snow to get rid of; we are almost there.

This past week I hosted our good friends the Kirtleys from Idaho who paid their first-ever visit to the Nation's Capitol. Russ, Jamie and Payton put on many miles for the 5 days they were in town. I was able to take them to a few of the monuments, but other than that, they were on their own to explore. It was a little dicey for their visit given the snowstorms and amount of snow on the ground, but I was very happy they made it and made the most of the visit. Been pretty quiet around the apartment without them though!

I fly out this weekend to Phoenix, Arizona for Indian Affair's National Forestry and Fire Conference, celebrating 100 years. I will get to fly home to Boise for the following weekend then back to Washington DC to finish out my detail. A long, exhaustive assignment here, but glad I had the opportunity to complete.

Cheers, Bodie
