As many of you saw in a post weeks ago, Heather was breaking in the kids new dirtbike and lovin' it. Following suit, Bodie made a racing track around the property with the old John Deere and Brendan has been having a go at it ever since. Well Bren was invited to an actual motocross race last night at a championship course not far from town. He was very nervous about even trying a practice session, let alone races that would follow. The race director let us know that if Bren wanted to back out after the practice session, he would refund our entry fee. Can't beat that insurance!
After some coaxing (actually it took him watching his friend PJ on the 65cc practice course), Bren gave in and wanted a go. NOTE: Can't take advice from Mom or Dad, but if a FRIEND can do it......). Bren took a couple of spills in the practice laps but that was not near enough to mask the competitive drive and spirit that Heather has blanketed him with; there was no way he was stopping after the practice rounds. Bren was now entered in race 5 and 15 on a 20 card night of dirt-spitting fun! As the pictures relay, it was a wonderful night! Brenny ended up in 3rd place after all was said and done, still talking trash at his competition....just like his Mom!
Bren wanted to say to his mates back in Australia--Go Blues! He wanted to thank Jack Speechly for the Carlton updates and he also didn't want Captain Bill to feel too bad that the Cats seemed to be flopping just as in last year's Grand Final!
3 weeks and counting for the trip. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
