Back Above From Down Under

We kicked and screamed, dragged our feet and complained to the flight crews and other passengers that we had changed our mind and didn't want to go! 14,211 kilometres back to Kuna, Idaho was a very long trip (27 hours door to door). All of this in light of the wonderful 7 months we experienced in Australia, but more specifically, Eppalock and the close friendships we made.

To the Eppalock Primary School faculty, parents and kids: Friday night was so special to us. We couldn't have been more blessed to have had our kids in your school and accepting all of us into your community. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

To the Gallaghers, Speechleys and Greens (and Rinaldis and Stewarts in spirit)...what a wonderful surprise to have all of you gather at the end of the driveway to see us off...at 6am no less! It was very incredible to see everyone there so unexpectedly, and a terrific way to leave on a happy note, with pots and pans banging and all our friends in their jammies! It did make for an awfully tough trip to the airport that morning though, we cried off and on throughout the day and night as we traveled.

We will keep up the post and send pix from this end now. We miss each and every one of our friends/family from Eppalock and other parts of Victoria and are so appreciative of all your efforts over the past half year to include our children and family in your daily lives. And especially the efforts over the last few weeks to plan and organize such amazing send-offs. We will watch the DVD from the school with very fond memories and longing.

We would like to see each of you again......sooner than later we hope! In the meantime, here are some pix of our life in Kuna. We expect daily pictures from all of the aforementioned groups/families!

Man, that almost made me cry imagining the great send off at the driveway! We hope you were able to have a few drinks on the plane (B & H, not the kids!!) to take the edge off! :) That was Greg's idea anyway! Well, if we ever see you up here in Seattle, we will welcome you with banging pots and pans; if that makes it any easier to be home. We are glad you made is safely, we'd love to see the school video sometime....maybe you can post it!
