We all headed down this morning to our local fire brigade (fire department) to enlist! Volunteering at your local fire brigade is really a civic duty here in Australia. The Country Fire Authority (CFA) in Victoria calls on nearly 60,000 volunteers to shore up the bushfire regulars. Bodie had been invited by the Chief Officer for CFA a few weeks ago to join the local brigade. It was a lot of fun and we all felt a sense of community by getting engaged with the Mosquito Creek Brigade. A bit scarry to listen as the fire bugs shared views on bushfire preparedness and training. As many of you know, Bodie likes to start them, now just needs to learn how to put them out, CFA-style!
